About the Role

We're hiring a Data Platform Engineer to join our team and work on a long-term client engagement with a major UK consumer advocacy organisation. You'll design, build, and optimize the data platform infrastructure that powers AI-driven products serving millions of users.

This is a platform engineering role — you'll own the infrastructure layer that data pipelines, ML models, and RAG systems run on. Think Terraform, CI/CD, Snowflake internals, and AWS at scale. You'll work alongside a Data Tech Lead and be part of our embedded 10-person engineering team.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and build the next generation of the data platform on AWS and Snowflake
  • Lead infrastructure-as-code implementation using Terraform for automation and reliability
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for data infrastructure automation
  • Monitor and troubleshoot complex data pipelines and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and SLAs
  • Optimize query performance, storage costs, and compute resources in Snowflake and AWS
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools (Airflow, sqlmesh, dbt)
  • Collaborate with the Data Tech Lead, providing technical guidance to the team
  • Apply DevOps principles to the entire data platform lifecycle
  • What We're Looking For

  • Deep understanding of Snowflake engineering components and infrastructure
  • Highly proficient in Terraform — maintaining infrastructure through code
  • Experience with GitHub and CI/CD for data pipelines
  • Strong experience building complex GitHub Actions pipelines
  • Python and SQL proficiency
  • Experience maintaining Apache Airflow or Managed Airflow (MWAA)
  • Knowledge of AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Nice to Have

  • Experience with dbt, sqlmesh, or similar transformation frameworks
  • Exposure to Data Mesh and distributed data ownership patterns
  • Knowledge of data observability and governance tools
  • Experience with cost optimization for cloud data architectures
  • What We Offer

  • Long-term, impactful work on a platform serving millions of users
  • Part of a 10-person embedded team — not a solo contractor
  • Work with modern data stack (Snowflake, AWS, Terraform, Airflow)
  • Remote-friendly with flexible hours
  • Backed by Eastvantage Group — global delivery, local culture
  • Engineering culture that values ownership, transparency, and craft
  • Apply for Data Platform Engineer position
